Financial Support

There is a wide range of support available whether you are in need of care or a carer. Most access to this support is defined by an assessment of need. You can contact Perth & Kinross Council to discuss this directly at selfdirectedsupport@pkc.gov.uk

Any assessment process should always be person centered, empathetic and supportive. Understanding what to expect can help remove any anxieties and curiosities about this process, a useful fact-sheet can be found here.

Some people decide to buy in their own help without going through an assessment from the local council. Either way you can still get support through the process and may find the following organisations helpful:

Support Choices - https://www.supportchoices.co.uk T: 01350 729130

Care Information Scotland -www.careinfoscotland.co.uk  T: 08456 001 001

Scottish Care - www.scottishcare.org T: 01292 270 240

There are many models and options and it is important that you take the time to decide which is best for you. If you are unsure then it may help to contact one of the above organisations who can share their knowledge and experience of the various options.

It is also essential that you understand your rights. Find out more here:
